About BakeCalc Pro

Free, accurate baking calculators for every baker — no signup, no ads, no nonsense.

What Is BakeCalc Pro?

BakeCalc Pro is a free collection of baking calculators designed to solve the real measurement problems bakers encounter every day: converting a UK gram-based recipe to US cups, scaling a recipe from 12 to 48 servings, calculating the ingredient cost of a batch, adjusting for high altitude, or working out baker's percentages for a sourdough formula.

Every calculator on this site is purpose-built for a specific baking task. They run entirely in your browser — your inputs are never sent anywhere, and no account is required.

Our Approach

Accuracy First
We cite our density sources, document our formulas, and explain every assumption. Our Methodology page lists the value and reference used for each ingredient.
No Invented Facts
We do not fabricate ingredient data, calorie values, or adjustment factors. When sources disagree, we disclose the range and explain our choice.
Practically Useful
Every calculator is built around a real baking task — not to pad page count. Each tool saves time or prevents a baking error.
Transparent Limitations
We tell you when a result is an estimate and why exact figures may vary. Precision baking always deserves a scale — we say so explicitly.

What We Are Not

  • We are not a recipe website. We do not publish recipes.
  • We are not a nutritional guidance service. Calorie estimates are informational only.
  • We do not sell products, memberships, or advertising placements disguised as content.
  • We do not fabricate author credentials, test kitchen affiliations, or awards.

How the Calculators Are Built

Every calculation on BakeCalc Pro executes in your browser using JavaScript and TypeScript. There is no server-side processing of your recipe data. The conversion formulas, ingredient density values, and calculation logic are all openly documented on our Methodology page.

Ingredient density values are drawn from established culinary references including King Arthur Baking Company's published standards and the USDA FoodData Central database. Where sources disagree, we document the discrepancy and choose the more conservative value. See Methodology for the full breakdown.

Accuracy and Updates

We review calculator values and formulas annually. When research, user feedback, or updated reference data reveals a discrepancy, we correct it. Our Editorial Guidelines describe the full review and update process.

If you find an error in a calculation, an incorrect density value, or a bug, please contact us. We take accuracy reports seriously and investigate every one.

Who Maintains This Site?

BakeCalc Pro is maintained by a small editorial team with backgrounds in food science, culinary arts, and web development. We do not list individual names or fabricate credentials. For information on our content review process, see the Authors page and our Editorial Guidelines.
